Project Overview

In many communities, disadvantaged women face significant challenges in securing their rights and improving their living conditions. To address this issue, the Yerala Projects Society (YPS) initiated a housing support project aimed at empowering these women by providing them with land rights and assisting them in constructing homes. This project not only aims to improve their living standards but also to strengthen their confidence and ensure they lead a life of respect and security.

Implementation Details

Securing Land Rights: The project began by assisting 20 disadvantaged women in securing a 2-acre parcel of land in their name, asserting their property rights. This land was strategically located near their supporting family members—father, brother, or in-laws—ensuring a sense of security and community.

Construction of Homes: Once the land was secured, the focus shifted to building homes on these parcels. YPS provided the necessary support for purchasing building materials from the market. The women contributed their labor and sourced locally available materials, fostering a sense of ownership and involvement in the construction process.

A home is not just a physical structure but a symbol of security and independence for these women. It enables them to make confident decisions regarding their lives and the well-being of their families.
