The organization strives to support deprived families to satisfy their basic needs, to build self sustaining community and to bring all underdeveloped elements of the community in the main stream of development

The organization sees rural development as a complex activity requiring an open-minded attitude, multiplicity of objectives and a mix of interventions. It believes that rural poverty in India is the consequence of a cluster of causes-ecological, economic, social and political
About The Organization
Yerala is a Non-Profit Charitable trust that has been working in rural India for the last 45 years
The organization is working with 22 villages under rain-shadow region to help the people of the villages through the whole spectrum
of problems ranging from Sociology-economic problems to Medical problems.
1 MILLION TREE PLANTATION
Plantation of 1 Million trees for 5 years by partnering with 5000 farmers from drought pron area is the organizations’ flagship project started in 2018.
5,000 green patches of 1 acre land each are being created to improve the micro climate and the overall effect on environment. Each farmer is being supported to plant 200 saplings of various fruits, flowers, etc, to reinstall biodiversity in the area.
COMMUNITY RADIO STATION
Yeralavani 91.2 FM mainly broadcasts various developmental programs to help villagers get information. Agriculture, Health, Education, woman empowerment, technology and entertainment are the program areas which are aired predominantly in Marathi and Kannada languages.
The organization takes all its devlopmental programs to the communities through this radio. Yeralavani has also won 2 national awards for effective communication.
